Will Chen is the Partnerships and Belonging Director at ECOSS (Environmental Coalition of South Seattle), Will joined ECOSS in 2018, and is the manager for the organization’s digital storytelling, including blogs, newsletters, social media and fundraising. He also manages projects that promote outdoors access for communities of color, such as outreach around King County’s Trailhead Direct service. Will speaks Mandarin, and his favorite food is dim sum.

ECOSS delivers environmental solutions that meet the needs of businesses, people and nature across Washington. ECOSS envisions thriving communities that are environmentally sustainable and equitable. Since the 1990s, ECOSS has been a leading urban environmental nonprofit in Seattle. Formerly known as the Environmental Coalition of South Seattle, ECOSS specializes in bridging knowledge and cultural gaps, serving the interests of residents, industry and government. Their international staff speak more than a dozen languages and work with Asian, Southeast Asian, Pacific Islander, African and Latino communities. More than two decades of experience and cultural depth make ECOSS a leader in multicultural environmental outreach and engagement.  ECOSS delivers environmental education, resources, and technical assistance in the areas of stormwater permit compliance, recycling and food waste, electrical vehicles and solar energy, Brownfields, Green Stormwater Infrastructure and outreach to multicultural communities and businesses.

We are meeting at noon at Azteca, 153 SW 157th St, Burien, 98166

Then we will move onto the Burien Farmer's Market from 2-6 pm at the information booth.

All are welcome to attend and participate.

We are helping at the White Center Food Bank during a food distribution. This month we have been asked to work the 2nd shift.

The second shift is 11:45-2:00

Jesse Tam is the District 5030 Foundation Chair for 2023-2024.

Mike Madden is our District 5030 Rotary Youth Service Chair.  Mike was born in Michigan, raised in Southern California, and moved to Washington where he attended Western Washington State College, now Western Washington University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, majoring in History and French. Mike taught at Meadowdale Junior High for five years and moved on from there after two district funding failures. He landed at Safeco Life Insurance Company, starting as a life insurance underwriter, becoming a supervisor, then manager, then he retired in 2010, as the Vice President of the Individual Product Line. Mike joined University Sunrise Rotary in 2010 and has served as Rotaract Liaison for UW-Seattle Rotaract, University Sunrise President, International Service Chair, Secretary, District Rotaract Chair and Youth Service/Youth Protection Chair.
Mike will share his experience regarding Youth Service and the Opportunities to Get Involved.
